I Feel BETTER!
The new doctor seems to know his shit; I feel MUCH better than I have in months.
Theoretically it may yet be a while before I completely put this issue behind me, but after that, I'm told it will entirely be a non-thing.
Which is excellent.
My father, on the other hand, is still struggling with health problems both old and new, and from week to week that can vary between 'Not a huge deal' to 'I just spent the last three days talking to doctors and sitting in hospitals'.
There's really nothing that can be done about that other than to get through it; hopefully things will settle down at some point.
In writing news, the semi-chaos of the last couple of weeks has had me acting pretty chaotically--I plotted out three stories that I may or may not ever get around to writing, I learned more about using the GIMP program to make ebook covers (and made ebook covers for those stories I mentioned), fought with Amazon.com a bit over the publishing details of one of my stories there (not one you've read; one under a super-secret alternate identity), etc.
Basically, even my writing work lately has contained little to no actual writing.
::Sigh::
Real life stress almost always short-circuits my writing ability; I can still be creative, I can still plot stories, but the focus I need to actually put together words on a page seems to evaporate when I'm waiting for a phone call about test results or trying to arrange for a doctor's appointment or arguing with my father about the stupid crap he pulls instead of properly taking care of himself.
And there's been a fairly relentless storm of that stuff for the past several months.
Which is not to say I'm not trying.
Writing is what I do. It's the thing I do that makes a mark on the world (in some tiny way), and I continue to work to find ways to produce material for those who want to read it. Still moving forward with the Buffy Sith story, despite the other ideas that want attention too (that Harry Potter/Dawn/Draco thing is still out there, waiting, lurking....).
I'll update you all when I've got more progress to report.
Till then.
